The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. The company considered North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia you'd think that the group would be prog kings and queens but they're actually a pretty straight forward rock band. The group began as a quartet, and they recorded two albums - 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their greatest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, however it did not come without its own set of issues. Record companies put the band on the position with the order "give us an album that's a smash or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to deliver. Toto was able to do this feat with the help of the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album begins hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to write fantastic AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. The album also contains jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distortion AOR and could sound completely wrong, but actually works amazingly well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes took a turn for the worse. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band went through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the group due to drug charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. However, the band still managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a stronger, more consistent effort that had an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper and less cloned earlier performances.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. 스포츠토토 사이트 followed shortly after, and the band embarked on an extensive world tour to promote it. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be reformed. The group, which was missing Howe who was working with Yes at the time, was renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
