About Toto
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio musicians with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The group took their name from the Latin word that means "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every musical style.

Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, takes over Fergie Frederiksen as the lead vocalist. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman, and provides the band with a much-needed boost.
The band released Mindfields in 1999 and embarks on a major tour across the globe. After several weeks in Europe The band then travels to Japan for sold-out shows. After a short hiatus, Toto resumes their recording and release their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993. The album features a cover of Weezer's song Hash Pipe as a response to the band's coverage of Africa during their recent tour. Toto's touring band is rounded out by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

After Isolation Toto was released, the band went on break. The band members of the band the chance to pursue their own projects. In 1996, the band was reformed to tour and record an album. It was the first time in over a decade that all the original members were on stage.
The following year, Toto toured together with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. This was the last time that all of Toto's original members appeared together on stage at the same time. It was the first time in more than 31 years that all of Toto's original members performed together.
